Carmen Alonso has a share of the lead at six under par after unduring an almost 22 hour wait to complete the final two holes of her second round.

The Spaniard started the day at minus seven, however dropped a shot with an unforced error on the reachable par-five 7th.

“I was thinking that I could go over the bunker but with this rain, I couldn’t and the ball was plugged,”Alonso said post-round.

“I hit it back into the fairway, and it was underwater.”

If the spaniard was disappointed, she didn’t show it. in fact, after a solid six iron to the 8th ( her last ) a comfortable two putt from about 8 metres for par.

“Finished for the day now, and I can sit back and wait for my third round time, maybe have something good to eat,” she grinned.
