De Roey Delight! Manon Claims #AusWomensClassic

Belgian Manon De Roey has captured her third Ladies European Tour title with aone under par final round at Coffs Harbour Golf Club as her challengers faltered in tough conditions at the Australian Women’s Classic.

Starting two shots behind Australian veteran Sarah Kemp, the 33-year-old captured her sixth professional win, and her first of 2025 in only her second start, having missed the cut in February’s Founders Cup in the US Virgin Islands.

KEMP: Round of my LIFE

Sarah Kemp, Australia’s great hope in this event after her career-best 62 yesterday, limped to the line, the effects of her broken leg in a cart accident in July last year clearly affecting her ability to walk. Kemp stumbled to her worst round of the week, whilst Thai sensation Arpo Wongras was unable to continue her blistering start to the final round and mount a challenge into the back nine.

2.20PM: shootout but young gun holds her nerve

It’s a shootout for the Australian Women’s Classic as the final groups make their way into the back nine at Coffs Harbour Golf Club.

Belgian Manon De Roey and Thailand’s teen star Arpo Wongras are tied for the lead at -8. With a win here De Roey will add her third LET title, whilst Wongras will grab her maiden LET win to add to her two Thai LPGA tour titles. If the 17-year-old Thai wins, Wongras will have the opportunity to accept full membership of the LET and will gain automatic entry into the AIG Women’s Open to be held at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in Wales in late July, the first time the women’s Open has been held in that country.

Overnight leader, Sarah Kemp, has been fighting a sore leg all day – visibly limping from her leg injury seven months ago – but is showing the determination and class of her 12 worldwide wins to still be in the hunt at -7 and just a shot back.

Grace Kim is making a charge to be at -5 for the championship, three-under for her final round. The 2023 Lotte Championship winner is only three back but is running out of holes, although a good birdie chance is available on the 17th and she also birdied the 18th in round one, among only a handful of players who have birdied the difficult finishing hole this week.

12.50pm: Arpo Lights it up with Early Move

Thai sensation Arpo Wongras has come out firing in the final round of the Australian Women’s Classic with back-to-back chip-in birdies to move to -9 and just one shot behind the leader.

Starting three shots behind overnight leader, Sarah Kemp, the 17-year-old played almost identical chips on the par-four third and par-three fourth to be two-under through four holes and in with a chance to add to her two professional wins since turning pro.

Kemp’s start mirrored her career-best round of 62 yesterday – par on the first, bogey on the second, birdie on the third  – to remain at 10-under.

Making a charge is India’s Avani Prasanth who is five-under through 10 to be at -3 for the championship, seven behind Kemp.

9.00am: #AusWomensClassic: Game On In Race For Title

Good morning, and welcome to our final round coverage of the Australian Women’s Classic, the fifth tournament on the Ladies European Tour schedule, coming to you from the stunning Coffs Harbour Golf Club on the mid-north coast of New South Wales.

Will it be a fairytale comeback for tour veteran Sarah Kemp, who overcame a broken leg just seven months ago and starts the day with a two-shot lead? Or will it be a dream breakthrough for Welsh rising star Darcey Harry, competing in just her second professional event?

Today’s weather conditions will mirror those of the past two days: glorious sunshine throughout, with northwesterly winds steadily increasing during the morning—setting up an intriguing back nine with challenging crosswinds on several holes leading back to the clubhouse.

Kemp, 39, delivered the round of her life yesterday, firing an incredible 62—a score that surprised even her long-time coach, John Serhan. Heading into the tournament, their only goal was for Kemp to walk all 54 holes without too much pain.

Anything can happen on the final day of a tournament of this stature. Grace Kim may be eight shots back, but with her talent, she could easily surge into contention if she putts as well as she did in the first two rounds.
