Milla’s Dream Fulfilled by April And Her Sunny Charm

Learning a skill from one of the game’s rising stars is only a dream for most, but for a bunch of excited girls like Milla Adamson from Bishop Druitt College on the Coffs Coast, today saw that dream was fulfilled.

12-year-old Adamson, who lives just down the road from Bonville was one of those, getting some putting tips from one of Thailand’s up-and-coming stars, April Angurasaranee.

Already boasting an impressive 14 handicap, Milla was captivated by the advice of the Thai.

“April has taught me about the three keys to putting, you need a good setup, you’ve got to get the pace right, and read the green.”

Angurasaranee, who only took up the sport nine years ago, was inspired by the ever-growing band of Thai female players on the world stage. She said it was a delight to import some golfing wisdom from the game’s growing junior female base.

“I’m thrilled more girls are picking it up,” The Thai explained. “It’s a fun sport to play and seeing more and more girls out here is a joy.”

“It wasn’t especially big when I took it up, but now you see the big names like Ariya and Moriya (Jutanugarn) and Atthaya (Thittikul), who are really big.”

For Milla, the big star of the day and week was Angurasaranee, admitting she couldn’t wait to get out this weekend to support her new-found putting “coach”.

“I can’t wait to get out here and watch her play, I’m super excited for the weekend,” she beamed.
